Save on Calls back to UK when travelling abroad
Want to make and receive calls cheaply when you are calling from abroad to the UK?
By popular demand we are able to provide our customers with the TravelTalk Roaming SIM!
The TravelTalk Roaming SIM gives you low price, high quality calls from your mobile handset while you're travelling abroad. You pay calling card prices to make calls, and receive calls in over 80 countries for Free of charge.
How does it work?
It's easy. Just buy the TravelTalk SIM card, insert it into your mobile and start using the service!
Getting Started:
- Your mobile phone handset need to be unlocked to receive all SIMs
- Detach the TravelTalk and place in your mobile phone handset
- Turn on your handset and make sure you have network coverage
- Some handsets request a PIN when finding a new SIM card. The PIN is 0000.
You can use the Roaming SIM on any mobile phone which is unlocked. If you are unsure whether your phone is locked try inserting a SIM card from another network into your phone. If it works normally, your phone is unlocked and ready for our Roaming SIM card. If a message such as 'SIM card restricted' appears you will then need to unlock the phone.
Making a call
Once your TravelTalk SIM card is in your mobile phone, to make a call:
- Dial country code & number and press the Call/Send button
- For example 00442084979295 'Call' or +442084979295 'Call'*
- There will be a short pause without any sound or line tone
- Your phone may (depending on handset model) display an on screen message saying, "Thank you for using the service. Your call will be connected shortly".
- After a few seconds, your handset will ring. When you answer you will hear a voice message saying, "Please wait while we connect your call".
- You will then hear the normal ring tone and you will be connected to your dialed number.
- When finished – please end the call and hang up as you would normally do.
*Some handsets may be incompatible with direct dialling. If you hear the following message, "Connection to this number is restricted on this phone" or experience continuous failing outgoing calls, you will need to dial in the following way:
*126*102*the number you want to call# and then press the Call/Send button.
e.g. *126*10200442084979295

Receiving a call
When your handset rings, answer it exactly as you would when receiving any call.
Using Voicemail
Dial 802 to access your voice mail.
Compatible Handsets
The TravelTalk SIM card will work in most handsets just as long as they are unlocked. However, the calling procedure may differ depending on your handset. This makes no difference to the call quality but it means you may need to dial with a short pre-fix number. In general:
- 70% of handsets – Call as instructed above.
- 30% of handsets – Enter a short 5 digit prefix before you make a call.
Unfortunately every handset is different and, with multiple software variations, there are too many to test and list. Please remember that all global SIM cards operate in this manner so no matter which network provides the SIM you will still have the same compatibility experience.
Validity
TravelTalk SIM card will initially be active for 12 months, after this time we will de-activate the card unless you have registered for the auto top up. In that case we will automatically take the £10 annual activation fee from your registered credit card. If your SIM card expires any remaining credit will be lost. If you are not registered for the auto top up we will send you a text message and/or email approximately 30 days before the expiry so you can call us and renew your SIM card's lifetime.
